The Futility of Projects

Peter Richard Dreyer, The Futility of Projects. Stacked redwood boards on asphalt (2014).

“Doing nothing is impossible, but try.”—Tacite de la Manière, Maximes et Pensées

You overrate the things you do, said Zhuang Zhou.

Only those who do nothing truly win the battle.

As publishers to literature, so zookeepers to a zoo;

as footballers to their stadia, so sages to sagacity.

History, forever short on cage capacity,

hates fouls, folderol,  and fiddle-faddle.

Doing nothing is impossible, but try!
